Forever flowers from this day forward

My daughter’s bestie got married on the weekend and I was lucky enough to make the wedding flowers for the event.



Rachel, the bride, asked me to create flowers for her wedding when she was only about eighteen . . . should Mr. Right come into her life one day.



I agreed thinking she might change her mind when the time and the groom came along.

Now, six years later her wish has come true . . . she married the love of her life . . . and her forever flowers will be a reminder of their lovely and charming wedding day.

A valentine to beat all others!

It’s Valentine’s Day and there are few things sweeter to give than candy. I love candy! It’s the very first word I learned to spell. C-A-N-D-Y! Needless to say, it had to be the theme for my valentine design this year.

When working on the design I thought I would mix it up with cookbooks about sweets, friendship quotes, little kewpie birds . . . and the retro mixer my husband grew up with, and is still used in our home today.

The front of the card has beaters that, when lifted, read “for a divine friend” and the back of the card has Betty Crocker’s sweet Divinity recipe. It will put you on cloud nine when you taste this treat.

I hope this card puts your head in the clouds with sweet and happy thoughts on Valentine’s Day!

Finishing touch for mailing my valentine cards . . . forever stamps swirled into a heart!

You name it, we’ve cut it!

When you gather with family and friends this thanksgiving season, no doubt you will know each of their names. The question is, will your guests know their place? 

Make seasonal name cards for each guest’s place setting so they not only know who they belong to, but where they belong. This can be easily done with the Wee Gather Together Leaf Labels graphic set on Lettering Delights. Simply print out the labels, (I used sticky-back label stock), use your best penmanship, attach each to a colored card stock folded in a tent stand, and put each person’s card at the table.

If you want to add a bit of faux nature to the great indoors, add a few autumn leaves, seeds, and pods to each place setting.
