Sweet Peeps for Easter

I have been working on putting many of my collections together in a format, layout style which shows an entire collection in a way that I have not done on my website. Many of the collections I have shared on my blog over the last year are newer collections that are not displayed on my website. I wanted to take this time to share some of the lines on my blog that are only visible in a small way on my website.

I thought I would start with Sweet Peeps as today is Easter and this is the Easter collection I have. Please keep in mind that this collection and many of the collections I will be sharing with you over the next few weeks are not necessarily lines that have been developed for fabrics. I will try to let you know when I share a line that has been manufactured as fabrics or scrapbooking products or for any other product for manufacturing, so you will know where or when to find them.

This will be the first of many collections I hope you will find a little joy in along with others as you take a peek every few days to see what is new, or what is re-new to you! I’d love to hear your thoughts on these as I do believe the information from you can help in seeing some of these collections become fabrics or paper products or even table top items as I share the input with my manufacturers.

Woodland Wonder

This is a sampling of a collection that I have been working on for Woodland Tails. It is a collection developed for babies with a menagerie of woodland creatures who are fully delighted with their natural surrounding. Since we all know that pink lambs and aqua giraffes are naturally at home with oversized flowers, oblong trees and colorful mushrooms, the setting, though whimsical seems the perfect landscape for the adoring creatures who inhabit it.

This collection is probably my favorite to date. The inspiration behind these little creatures comes from many years ago, when I had a brown, velvet dress with tiny woodland creatures tossed about the print. I can’t remember it exactly and I only have a small photo of myself wearing the dress, but as I recall, the animals were a giraffe, peacocks, deer and horse. The photo of me with my crooked bangs (on the blog, to the right) is of that little dress that encouraged me to create Woodland Tails. It’s my version of that happy (or pouty as the photo will tell:) time in life when Mom dressed me in her favorite clothes because, well, that was her job and she may as well have enjoyed it. Thanks, Mom, you made a good choice. :)

Barnyard Sweethearts

It’s that time of year to remember the ones you love with messages from the heart. Here is a little collection of farm friends sharing their sentiment, corny though they be, they come straight from the heart.

All I want to do is play, play . . .

. . . and that’s what I feel like I’ve been doing. It was time to take Kate and Nate out of the toy box and play with them again. More patterns, more designs and more reasons. I will share that with you one of these days.

Christmas surprise in Living color

I received my December issue of Country Living magazine the other day and always look forward to paging through it each time it arrives. It is a magazine that I have known and enjoyed for years. I remember my mom subscribing to it many years ago. She was one of the original subscribers when it began thirty years back. So, I feel like the magazine has been a part of my life, well, longer than even my own family. It is one of only two magazines that I loyally subscribe to and this month I was especially glad that I do.

As I came to a section in the magazine called “Dazzling Holiday Decorating Ideas” I noticed a neat advent calendar made with little matchboxes stacked into a pyramid and wrapped with festive holiday paper. It was then that I noticed the paper used for wrapping the little boxes was my paper that I had designed for K&Company. How fun to see, and what a nice surprise to find in the magazine.

I then flipped to the next page and found little nickel frames hanging on a Christmas tree framing more of my art. Well, needless to say, it put me in a happy frame of mind!
